USART Tutorial for the STM32

In the “electronics” section I added a new tutorial on how use the USART of the STM32. The tutorial shows in example, how to connect a STM32 Discovery board trough an FTDI to an PC and how data is send and received.

Tutorial on Wireless Infrared Link

Over at pyroelectro they have a nice little tutorial on how to link two USARTs together trough a wireless infrared link. It is amazingly simple, and yes, as usual they use PICs for that


There is an other Wiki (germain only) dealing with building quadro copters. It offers some step-by-step instructions on how to build the electronic components for a QC, but leaves out how to build the frame. They us an ATmega328P as micro controller.

Crazy Music Making Machine: GöGWheel

Tody I saw GöG performing on his “GöGWheel” while walking down our local shopping mile. The “GöGWheel” is an absolutely crazy amazing music making machine build on a spinning wheel. With the “GöGWheel” GöG is able to play up to eleven different  tracks of music at once! See the GöGWheel on youtube

Tutorial on Xbee Wireless Interface

On pyroelectro they have a simple tutorial showing how to interface with an Xbee wireless module. As an MCU they use a PIC, but the basics show in the tutorial are valid for other MCUs too.

Converting an STM32 Discovery to Versaloon

On takenapart, there is an article which describes how an STM32 Discovery could be converted to versaloon. By doing so, you end up with getting a cheap JTAG debugger which has full Linux support

Interacting LED Blocks

There are two projects bulding very cool LEDs blocks interaction through IR with each other. Each LED block is equipped with a 8×8 dot matrix and driven by an ARM STM32 processor. They use freeRTOS as an OS. MB LED GLiP
